Hello All:
New to the forum. I just sent my application for PL because I drove thru God's country from a trip to alberta this week and liked the geology. Now I'm not so sure if that was a good idea.
Concerning the home page post about Apr 3.....
It describes a ruse and isn't what we meant to think it is. The big mining companies have a whole slew of clerks and counselors to do the added work they want to implement. The writing is on the wall. This revamp of the system is a ploy to weed out the small guy, create a system of gauntlets so difficult and beset with potential for litigation that he will be discouraged from trying. The procedure will now have a commercial aire about it more suited to front office clerks and company paid prospectors who have the time to haggle a deal or obtain a permission. M2C
From Ontario, I do my prospecting in quebec and generally have no such worries. I can relax in PQ and usually stay with crown lands as much has possible. I have one thorn with PQ, in that they should supply vehicle stickers that indicate intent. This way officials, owners and passerbys can tell right off why a vehicle is parked where it is. (I've heard of shot out tires and nasty confrontations.)
I was also wondering if a knife or weapon can be taken along in ontario prospecting so long has it's visible. I usually carry a "noife" a huge bowie strapped to my calve has well has a can of bear spray and a whistle.
Thanks for the info.
Andy
